I want to share the news of my DJ residency that I had the pleasure of curating right here in Montreal since mid-April 2016 is no longer.
The festivities took place at the Junior Filipino restaurant every Friday night from 8pm-11pm E.S.T.
You can no longer catch yours truly in the mix with a hand picked bag of the most soulful vinyl at the restaurant anymore!
A little over a year ago, I was asked to join the DJs that spun at Junior Restaurant at a time when I needed it most. I had the pleasure of spinning there Friday nights at what was the longest DJ residency I would have. It was a learning experience and allowed me to put some of my records to use.
One of my fondest memories was an older man freaking out that I played the 45 RPM of "Digging Your Scene" by The Blow Monkeys. The other was playing music in the restaurant while the man who remixed "Say Say Say", the first 12" single I ever owned as a boy, ate at the bar in front of me.
I'm grateful to Hiten Patel, Tony Hall, Julian Paul, Malcolm Roberts, Mark Bermudez, Bic, JoJo & Toddy Flores for the opportunity.
Thank you again to Junior staff and management.
