When I learned WeFunk's Professor Groove and DJ Rubyjane were spinning at ARTV studios during Nuit Blanche, I knew I was going to check it out.
I was not aware of the event being held at ARTV until I arrived there.
I was thrilled to discover an art exhibit would take place while I heard the duo spin.
The art revolved around animation, which I love, and seemed very familiar.
I remembered walking and seeing similar art during Under Pressure 2012. In fact, I was compelled to take a photograph of a peculiar shaped diamond. I would learn the artist whose weird diamond I photographed was being featured that Nuit Blanche.
The venue was literally a winter wonderland of photograph subjects. The ARTV studio had a good number of people present and I felt that I was where I needed to be that night.
I got to meet Tava before I left the exhibit.
As I mentioned before and on previous posts, I love animation especially vintage cartoons. TAVA must also because he gave his unique spin on iconic cartoon characters like The Pink Panther, Richie Rich & Casper the Friendly Ghost.
There was an area where spectators like myself could participate by drawing or doodling art designated for to on the wall.
I meant to post about my time at the TAVA/ARTV exhibit earlier.
If there is something familiar about TAVA's art, here's a gentle reminder.
TAVA was featured in Place Des Arts metro a few months after the Nuit Blanche exhibit.
