I was first aware of the duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis with Janet Jackson’s classic Control.
I not only marvelled at Janet’s tour-de-force album’s cuts climbing the charts but the production as well.
Nearly all of the tracks were released as singles with The Pleasure Principle being my favourite.
When I think about Nasty, You Can Be Mine and What Have You Done For Lately, Janet was really in Control of those big beats and grooves courtesy of Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
