Shindig

If your memory of The Flintstones is good, you remember that they somewhat spoofed Shindig. 1960s rock group The Beau Brummels performed their song Laugh Laugh.
Hanna Barbera's animation of the band and Shindig host Jimmy is uncanny and incredibly accurate.
The 1960s was indeed a great decade for music and television.
There were many programs a great combination were. For the longest time I thought American Bandstand was the only one of its kind
that I knew of until I learned otherwise.
A Montreal video store had a number of Shindig volumes for rent.
In retrospect, Shindig must not have lasted long if they were able to compile the performances on a few volumes.
Regardless of how long it was on the air, the program provided plenty of classic 1960s performances to peruse.
The soul music related volumes were of immediate inters test to me and thanks to YouTube I can catch up on the performances I may have missed.
