A casual browse of this blog's recent posts will reveal they are focused on female hip hop artists.
I had been planning to write about some of my favorite hip hop females for a while and finally did so. International Women's Day was earlier in the month so the first ladies of hip hop are on my mind.
I also realized I was doing this on the day of the late Boogie Down Productions pioneer Ms. Melodie's birthday.
